About this event

BACKGROUND

The mySDGAction2030 Campaign is Global Compact Network Malaysia’s response to UNGC SDG Ambition, in which we have curated a number of collective action programs around climate change, sustainable financing, sustainable supply chain, SDG communications, strategic CSR and sustainable SMEs. This program acts as a springboard for localized action to bring together various private sector actors to collectively contribute to sustainable development.

The discussion will focus on the “will” and “skill” elements of our corporate partners in wanting to contribute and achieve the SDGs whilst the fire-side-chat will focus on effective public-private-people partnerships to achieve the SDGs especially during crisis recovery.

SESSION DESCRIPTION

The session will be for a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The first 30 minutes will see a Keynote Address by YB Dato’ Saifuddin bin Abdullah, Minister of Communications and Multimedia, focusing on driving public-private partnerships in achieving the SDGs. This will be followed by the launch of Global Compact Network Malaysia’s #mySDGAction2030 campaign, officiated by the minister.

Following the launch, a CEO panel discussion on the theme “Sustainability by Design: Building Blocks for the New Normal” will be held. Now it is crucial in business situations like these to have a Sustainability plan in place to ensure the cogs continue to turn uninterrupted even if not a 100%. This allows businesses to accelerate into a rolling position from the get-go. Sustainability by Design is a deliberate effort to put together a sustainability strategy in anticipation of the impossible and to mitigate the risks from unexpected events.
