Truong Thi Nam THANG is founder and director of the Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CSIE) under the National Economics University since 2017. She is also Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business Management since 2014, appointed since 2019 Associate Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Innovation, University of Cambridge. Dr. Thang received a MBA degree from the School of Management at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and PhD in international economics from the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Vietnam. Before joining academia, she took executive position in international companies in technology and manufacturing in Vietnam. Dr. Thang’s areas of teaching, researching and consulting include corporate governance, international business, entrepreneurship, social innovation and development. Being a pioneering ecosystem builder for social entrepreneurship in Vietnam, Dr. Thang leads annual country reports on the sector and leads development projects and programmes with funding and in partnership with Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology, British Council, Irish Embassy, UNDP and corporates such us IKEA, SK Happiness Foundation. She co-found and lead the Vietnam Social Enterprise Scholars Network (VSES), found the Vietnam Youth for Social Innovation Network (VYSIN), serves in advisory board of British Council South East Asia Social Enterprise Programme, serves as director of boards of Vietnamese social enterprises, serves as Deputy lead of the Working group of the National Programme 1665 – promoting entrepreneurship in high schools and universities in Vietnam, and co-lead the Impact Techfest (National Start Day) in 2018 and 2019 with UNDP.
