Mr. Farooq Ahmed
Mr. Farooq Ahmed is the Secretary-General of the Bangladesh Employers Federation. He is well conversant with the functioning of the global supply chain especially the supply chain of the fashion industry.

Mr. Ahmed joined the Federation in 2004 as the Secretary. Thereafter, he took over as the Secretary-General and CEO on 1st January 2009 and since then he is continuing in the same position.
Mr. Ahmed has vast experience of working with the public and private sectors. He has been actively involved in promoting decent work and fundamental principles and rights at work in Bangladesh. He has been playing a key role in ensuring occupational safety and health at enterprise level in Bangladesh; particularly he has been driving the agenda forward since 2013 after the tragic accident of Rana Plaza.
Mr. Ahmed has been involved in formulating various policies on sound industrial relations, collective bargaining, gender equality, workplace cooperation and fair recruitment and migration in Bangladesh.
He has attended numerous national and international seminars/ workshop/ symposiums. He represents the employers in the International Labour Conference held in ILO Headquarters in Geneva for last 12 consecutive years. Mr. Ahmed is a Deputy Member of the ILO Governing Body from the Employers Group since 2017.
Mr. Ahmed is well conversant with the functioning of the global supply chain especially the supply chain of the fashion industry.
